Before you get out of bed and chase your dreams....

Here I am back from a mini vacation. As a read, I took Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins. Self-development books are great because they help you reboot your life in a matter of a few seconds, minutes, hours…

What is interesting about the new phenomena of self-development and the Secret effect is that everyone now talks about gratitude and how important it is to be grateful for what you have before you ask for more or better.

It is true that we spend our time looking for what we don’t have and we love comparing ourselves with others. Self-help books authors are right to suggest that one should implement gratitude exercises on a daily basis so s/he is aware of his/her given talents, resources and assets in life. It is a proven way that one will live happier and less miserable.

To be honest, I didn’t need to read it from Tony or Ronda. Gratitude is something we are taught to ever since we are small children. After finishing a meal, you should say ‘hamdoullah’. Hamdoullah isn’t used just for eating and food but also to describe a particular situation (good or bad) etc.

Saying hamdoullah helps us be aware of what is going on at the present moment and express gratitude for the family we have, the love we receive, the health we enjoy, the food we eat, the shelter we have, etc.

One should be grateful and continue to aspire for better.

So let’s all take a quick moment and think of all the things we are grateful more in our lives.

HAMDOULLAH and have a wonderful journey of life J

  1. I have one question, If you had been brought up in Somalia would you be grateful and for what ? because they don't have food there to say hamdullah after eating it nor good situations .

  2. Hi Issam. Thanks for your comment. First of all, I am no expert in this. I am actually learning, trying to apply the learnings and then share.
But to respond to your question, I believe that most people do not belong to the Somalian minority that is dead because of hunger.
Of course, food and shelter are the basic minimum to nourish a body and keep a mind alive. Otherwise, one would not have enough resources to use his brain and mind.
So in my article, I talk about all the rest of us who have the basic minimums but keep on looking for something else without ever been satisfied.

  3. Yes Somalian is a minority but they are not the only minority. There is a lot of minorities similar to them and if we sum them up we will have a great majority. How this majority is supposed to be thankful and thank god for nothing ?

Train your mind to make you feel good

I was recently having a conversation with a friend who was complaining about how she doesn't have any help at home and that she hated all that house chores from cooking to cleaning etc. She spoke about the subject passionately and I could feel how she felt about it all. She also explained that she couldn't find anyone to give her a hand and that the potential candidates didn't want to work during summertime. Basically what I understood is that she's stuck. I could almost recommend her moving to a hotel room and being taken care of but I knew that wasn't an option. This made think about a good piece of advice that I heard in one of the audiobooks. Wayne Dyer said: 'If you're not doing what you love and loving what you do, you have 2 choices to make: 1) change what you're doing or 2) change how you feel about what you're doing. I believe that the second option is extremely powerful. While there's so much vibe about 'leaving your job and...
